SSC signature, sized to pass.
Add a photo of your signature. We clean it up, fit it to SSC's shape and file size, and check the finished JPEG before you download.

- It is your own signature, as you will sign at the exam.

What SSC asks for
| Document | Format | File size | Pixels | DPI |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Signature | JPG/JPEG | 10–20 KB | —2.8–3.2 wide ÷ high | — |
The firm rules are JPEG/JPG and 10 to 20 KB. SSC describes the shape only in centimetres: about 6.0 cm wide × 2.0 cm high, roughly 3:1. It does not state a pixel size or DPI. We output 472 × 157 px at 200 DPI, which is exactly 6 × 2 cm.
Do I still upload a photo?
Not according to the 2026 notice we read. SSC captures the photograph live inside the application form, so there is no photo file to resize. The notice also says photographing an existing photo is not allowed. If a guide tells you to resize an SSC photo to 20–50 KB, it is out of date for this notice.
What to know this cycle
- Only the signature is uploaded. The photograph is captured live by the application form, so do not photograph an old photo: SSC rejects that.
- Candidates who complete Aadhaar-based authentication are not rejected on the ground that their photograph or signature does not meet the prescribed standard.
- We have read the Stenographer 2026 notice only. Check the notice for your exam; we add each SSC notice here only after reading it.
Where common advice disagrees with the official notice
- Many guides still tell you to resize an SSC photo to 20-50 KB. The 2026 notice says the photograph is captured live inside the application, so there is nothing to upload for it.
- SSC gives the signature size in cm only ("about 6.0 cm × 2.0 cm"). Pixel sizes you see elsewhere (such as 140×60 or 236×79) are not in the notice.
Why SSC signatures get rejected
- Blurred, illegible or miniature. SSC's wording for what gets rejected. Sign large; we shrink it, so a big signature stays readable.
- Over 20 KB, or under 10 KB. We target the middle of the range, not the edge.
- Not a JPEG. We save a real JPEG, and re-read it to check.
