What it does
- Choose Under, Around or Between, and type the size in KB.
- We keep the highest quality that fits. Only if that is not enough do we shrink the pixels, and you can forbid that.
- We re-read the finished file and show whether it meets your limit.
Examples
| You enter | You get |
|---|---|
| Under 200 KB | For portals that say “maximum 200 KB”. We aim a little under, never on the edge. |
| Around 50 KB | Lands just under 50 KB, not far below it. |
| Between 20 and 50 KB | Stays inside both limits. If the pixel size matters too, use KB + Dimensions. |
If it isn’t working
- The picture got smaller in pixels.
- A tight limit can need fewer pixels as well as lower quality. Turn on “Keep the pixel size” under Advanced and we will tell you instead of shrinking it.
- It says it can’t reach the minimum.
- PNG and WebP can’t be padded up to a minimum. Save as JPG under Advanced, or use KB + Dimensions.
- My PNG stays big.
- PNG is lossless, so only fewer pixels make it smaller. Save as JPG under Advanced for a bigger saving.
- Nothing changed.
- If your file was already inside the limit, we return it exactly as it was.
